Is a CabTransfers.co.uk a legitimate business? or is it a scam? Who is behind it?
CabTransfers.co.uk is another incarnation of inglorious BetterFares.co.uk and
those two mentioned above has lots in common with:
RBC Management, http://rbcmanagement.co.uk/ and
Matrix Solutions, and
Global Net Solutions,
AD CLaim Services- http://www.ppi.org.uk/
RBC Claim Management -http://bank-charges-claim.co.uk/
The person behind seemes to be Yasser Hussain
They have been calling at least several operators we know well in Greater London area offering an ‘increase in number of jobs and airport runs’ by ‘building a website around your business, with an online booking engine, card payment facilities and fully trackable calls, emails and bookings’ also promoting it via major search engines like google, yahoo, bing (yahoo and bing are now the same) for an amazeing value of £99/month.
What do they offer?
As an example they often give you one of their websites- e.g. http://cheaptaxiaylesbury.co.uk/
When you perform a search for it all you can see is a paid (sponsored) listing on the right hand side of the search results. Ath the time of writing this article earlier mentioned website could not be found anywhere on the first page in the Google.com OR Google.co.uk organic search results (unpaid). It is unclear to me at this stage if the £99/month includes the PPC campaign cost (you simply have to pay to be in those sponsored search results), but I really doubt it. What I think as an internet marketing and search engine optimisation concious and experienced person is tht they might even pay themselves for these results just as an example (so when they call you they can impress you with their results).
The truth is that anyone can be there- in the paid results. The only thing your performance in these sponsored results depends on and is based on, is on how big your wallet is– on how much you are willing to pay per click and how much you are willing to spend per day/week/month.
BUT when you stop paying- you simply disappear from those sponsored search results.
I called cabtransfers.co.uk on 01619692280 and spoke to the lady there pretending to be interested in their offer. All she was interested in was to finalize a deal, to sell and NOT TO answer my questions. It went all dodgy when I asked what the company is called, if they are registered limted company or not- she answered they are VAT registered but was not keen on providing me with their VAT registration number or any company details. Instead she kept pointing me to their website, repeating herself there was an address at the bottom and that’s where they are based. Well an address on the website does not necessarily prove anything at all. Why didn’t she give me a simple answer- ‘we are based at …, comapany registered name is … and we are trading as…, she did NOT want to answer these, why? I don’t know. You see anyone can put some address on the website- I can put 10 Downing Street in the footer and contact page of this one- but would you believe me I was located there based on the address placed on my website? She- the lady on the phone- also did say the websites will have a credit card payment facilities but did not answer who actually would process the payments for me and if they were regulated by the Financial Services Authority or/and regulated as a Money Service Business by HM Revenue and Customs.
Eventually I asked her if they were the same company as infamous betterfares.co.uk but she did not answer either.
Well I can tell you this: cabtransfers.co.uk AND betterfares.co.uk AND taxiquoter.co.uk ARE the same company and the man behind is the very same person Yasser Hussain.
He has registered (ie. Yasser Hussain) hundreds domain names (domain names like betterfares.co.uk, etc) on his name.
Some of them:
They are mostly kept on one of the two IPs on his reseler hosting package bought from EUKHOST
(on this one there is betterfares.co.uk, taxiquoter.co.uk AND a new baby: cabtransfers.co.uk)
(on this one all the rest domains)
These packages they offer do not include a domain name right transfer to your name, so once you withdraw from the contract they have the domain name some of your customers might be familiar with, they might have the phone number you have been using for a year (they offer you phonecalls stats and the only easy way to do it is to offer you a VOIP number which they can then redirect to yours- bear in mind you are not the owner of it!).
So when you are all excited at the begining, giving your customers new business cards with your new website address (which de facto does not belong to you) and you provide great service, so your customers write about you online recommending your service to friends. After some time you migh realise the website does not bring you a value for money so you withdraw from the contract after a year. You have lost over 12 hundreds and where is Yasser Hussain? He now has your website with genuine links pointing to it from your customers who were happy they recommended your service to their friends. He can now sell it to your competitor or just place there links to other of his websites building for free (actually using your money) his online taxi comparison websites imperium. He even knows what customers you had through the website, and maybe you did not have many of them, but he is not going for small numbers- he has hundreds of such websites and poor idiots who are ready to sponsor him and his wealth unaware.
